Graphic Packaging to close US plant
Food and consumer packaging solutions provider, Graphic Packaging has announced plans to close its Twinsburg plant in US in November, which was opened in 1994.
Graphic Packaging spokeswoman Cynthia Baerman said the closure rises from a merger late last year of the company's multi-wall bag business with Delta Natural Kraft and Mid-America Packaging, the company that owned the Twinsburg plant.
"This is a consolidation following that merger," Baerman said.
Dog food, garden soil and other goods that need thicker, sturdier material can be packaged using multi-wall bags.
The company, which manufactures boxes, bags and other packages for various industries said the closure will impact as many as 175 people out of work and the first group of employees to lose their jobs will leave in June.
